Grand Wishlist

This is a list I made years ago, when I was an ambitious high school senior coming out of a bit of a dramatic semi-depression period. I’m posting this here unedited but I’ve crossed out things I’ve done/things I already have. See, I unearthed this list when I was cleaning up my files and I just realized that the goals you had when you were younger show what your heart really wants without much influence from expectations and dictates of other people. Because of that, I made a decision to continue crossing things out of and adding things to this list.

I’m making this public for two reasons: 1) So I have some sort of public record of some of my little goals and little material wants; and 2) so I’d have a little more pressure on me to cross out stuff on this since people see it. Could stop me from slacking off.

So here they are, my high school wishes:

• Get into UP or ADMU (UP Manila, hey!)
• Get into a music or communications course (Organizational Communication. One of my best decisions ever.)
• Graduate before 2012
• Own an electric guitar (He’s red and I named him Poe)
• Buy my own sound mixer
• Learn how to surf skim (Learning how to skim instead. Safer, they say.)
• Open for a really good band (Hello, Urbandub! Awesome experience.)
• Dance with the funky people again before 2007 ends (October 2007, I love you)
• Go on a beach trip with friends
• Get a driver’s license
• Get an actual sport to play
• Own all of Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson’s original releases
• Write a song (Couldn’t have done it without help from amazing and talented friends, though)
• Perform said song (Happened when my former band and I opened for Urbandub back in 2006)
• Meet Bamboo (Ira Cruz, if not all of them), Alvin Patrimonio and Raimund Marasigan
• Go to a PBA Finals game
• Learn how to bake
• Have my own laptop
• Own the Wade Robson dance shoes (maybe impossible now since I don’t even know if they still sell it)
• Go to a music festival
• Buy a mirror ball for my room
• Go on a trip overseas alone

Wishes of a college graduate:

• Go to New York to watch shows on Broadway
• See RENT, Aida, The Phantom of the Opera, Avenue Q and Les Miserables onstage
• Go to Greece
• Ride a roller coaster until I can’t walk straight
• Watch a World Cup match live (Watched a World Cup qualifying match. We’re getting there.)
• Watch an NBA game live
• Get my own studio (In the works! A few more weeks. *fingers crossed*)
• Go shopping in Hong Kong
• Collect all Harry Potter books and movies (and other merch)
• Have my favorite guitar signed by members of Urbandub (I already have Lalay’s), SinoSikat? Up Dharma Down, and <S>andwich

And so it begins. I guess we’ll all see how I do on this soon enough.
